Terms of Service

In plain English

Cōrta helps you track cortisol-related habits and symptoms. It is not medical advice and not a medical device, so always talk to a clinician about health decisions. If you subscribe to Cōrta Premium, billing is handled through the App Store or Google Play. Your app entries stay on your device unless you choose to send relevant context to Cōrta AI.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cōrta website at getcorta.app and the Cōrta mobile application (together, the "Service"), operated by the Cōrta team ("Cōrta," "we," "us," or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are and how to reach us

Cōrta is a cortisol and HPA-axis protocol tracker operated by the Cōrta team. For legal and privacy matters, contact us at privacy@getcorta.app. For general questions, reach us at hello@getcorta.app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Cōrta, you represent that you meet this requirement and that any information you provide is accurate. Cōrta is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Medical disclaimer

Cōrta is an educational and self-tracking tool. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. Cōrta is not a medical device, and nothing in the Service constitutes medical, clinical, or professional advice.

The content, insights, protocols, and suggestions offered through the Service are for general informational purposes only and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Always consult a clinician before starting, stopping, or changing any supplement, medication, protocol, or health routine — especially if you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or take prescription medication. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or logged in Cōrta. If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your doctor or emergency services immediately.

4. Your data

App entries are stored locally on your device. If you use Cōrta AI, your question and relevant app context are sent to our service providers to generate a response. See our Privacy Policy for details and controls.

5. Website and app email

If you join the waitlist on our website, we collect your email address (stored via Supabase) for the sole purpose of notifying you about launch and related early-access updates. We will not spam you, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send. Analytics on the website are privacy-respecting and aggregate only.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems;
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure;
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or copy the Service except as permitted by law;
  • Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or harmful content;
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent;
  • Misrepresent the Service's content as clinical or professional medical advice.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms.

7. Subscriptions and payment

Some features are offered through Cōrta Premium. The launch offer is $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year, with a 3-day free trial; the exact localized price and offer shown by the store at purchase controls. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. A trial converts to the selected paid plan unless canceled before it ends. You can manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the "Cōrta" name, is owned by the Cōrta team and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal use, subject to these Terms. You retain ownership of the data you enter; you grant us permission to process it solely to provide the Service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. No guarantees

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any tracking, insight, or protocol will produce any particular health outcome. Individual results vary, and your health decisions remain your own responsibility in consultation with a qualified professional.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cōrta and the Cōrta team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars ($50). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and erase local app data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including the medical disclaimer, intellectual property, no guarantees, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
